The Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday reaffirmed the decision between him and his Ogun State counterpart to synergies and ensure that they bring transformation and positive development to their people.

He stated this at the thanksgiving service organised in honour of Ogun State governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun by his church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, King’s Court, Victoria Island, Lagos, describing Abiodun’s victory as an act of God.

He said, ‘I want to commend all our people from Ogun State and I want to say that the expectations from us are higher from 29th of May and between myself and Dapo Abiodun, we have been thinking of what we can put together to address the yearnings of our people and and bring positive developments to them.

He noted that it is there decision “To make Lagos to Ogun simply what New York is to New Jersey in terms of development and where there’s no borders, no barriers and bring solutions to the yearnings of our people.

Sanwoolu also hinted that “When we talk about electioneering challenges, Lagos has its own drama, but I can tell you that Ogun State has a super drama.

His words ” Everybody thought he (Dapo) was nothing, but God mistakingly opened the door and this shows that God has answered his prayer. I believe God who opened the door will continue to uphold him”.

He further explained that between him and Dapo they can begin to think of what they can do to bring positive development for thier darest state because they see themselves as partners.

The Lagos state Governor-elect disclosed that Pastor Ben of the Kings Court is a close friend of him, adding that he was so excited and delighted that a pastor of God can celebrate one of his own, because for a church to deem it fit to hold a celebration for one of them, I (Sanwoolu) think it’s commendable and he deserves a round of applause.

“This shows that Abiodun will represent you (Ogun State) well because I can imagine that before he finish his four or eight years, you will still want to have him back.”

“I want to wish you well, I want to wish Ogun State well and I know that from the selfish point of view, when you do well, I know Lagos is doing well.”

Meanwhile, the Ogun State governor elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun while delivering his speech reiterated that, between him and Sanwoolu, have decided to have a Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission. Explaining that the commission will be focused on a field mission.

Abiodun who was accompanied by his wife, Chief Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, in his address thank the good people of Ogun State, the leadership of his party, All Progressive Congress (APC), family members and the members of the church for organising the thanks giving which he described himself as just an invited guest.

He hinted that Lagos state cannot exist without Ogun State.  This is why we are called the Gateway State.

His words “Lagos needs us to survive. As part of our responsibilities at this commission,  we would be looking at the issue of security, physical planning, infrastructures, revenue and taxes.”

He explained that his administration would be responsive, transparent, flexible, alert and as well would be visionary.

“I have said over time and again, that my vision is to give Ogun State a focused and qualitative leadership and governance to create an enabling environment for the public private sector partnership to thrive which really is fundamental to the economic growth of Ogun State and individual prosperity for our dear state.”

“We would also be looking at physical planning. Our people that live in border States are not really living in an organized setting.”

“We would be looking at infrastructure, you will agree with me that people that live in Mowe, Ibafo, Akute, Ofada and all the areas in Ifo local government and environs need more physical infrastructure.”

“We are looking at the issue of connectivity and mobility as well.  Most of our people live in Ogun and work in Lagos.  We have to look at this to ease their movement to work as many of them have to wake up as early as 3am to get to their various work places in Lagos, Abiodun added ”

Earlier, Pastor Ben Akabueze, who is the parish pastor of the King’s Court, appreciates God for all He (God) has done in the lives of the Ogun State governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

He stated, ‘I welcome everyone to this thanksgiving service in honor of the newly elected governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun to appreciate what God has done in his life. Abiodun family, Ogun State people and Nigeria at large are blessed to have Abiodun in government because God is ready to use him to bring enormous progress to Ogun state and Nigeria in general.

He stated further, Abiodun era in government will be an era that has not been witnessed before in terms of good performance. Being a member of our church, our responsibility is to continuously pray for him to excel in his administration.
